Before you run the NewsCloud installation script, be sure you have the following settings ready to enter into the script. Also, if you want to hire NewsCloud to install the script for you, we're still going to need the following information. The values below are just examples:
Your Server
(We recommend Rackspace's 1 GB Cloud server configured with Ubuntu 10.04. Amazon AWS small server instance is also a possibility. Or, your own dedicated server. You need root access to the server.)
User name with root privileges: jeff
Password: balloons$45
IP Address: 192.57.110.86
Domain Name Settings
Your domain name: yoursupersite.com (note: no www)
DNS configuration: Map an A record to your IP address e.g. yoursupersite.com A 192.57.110.86
You can't run the installation script until the DNS record is updated. Sometimes this can take 24 - 72 hours.
Facebook Application
You have to sign up for a Facebook application and configure it with your domain name. You'll need the following settings (note the trailing slashes and absence of www in the settings below):
